  • 1 1/2 cups – white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Teaspoon – vanilla extract

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients that were mixed together in step 1. Roll dough into round 1″ balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let cool on the cookie sheet two minutes before removing to the wire racks.

Helpful hints:

  1.  If you do not wish to ice these cookies, you can roll then in sprinkles, sugar, or cinnamon-sugar before baking to create a treat ready to eat.
  2. Placing aluminum foil on your cookie sheet can help you keep the food moist.  It can also help to cook more evenly, but most definitely make clean up easier.
  3. Rolling the dough into balls, rather than dropping by teaspoon on to the cookie sheet will help to make nice perfectly round cookies.
  4. If you choose to make cookie cutter cookies, you can roll the dough out on the counter to about 1/8 inch thick.  Keeping flour on your rolling pin will keep the dough from sticking to the rolling pin.

ENJOY!
